This is
a historical map of the explored space in the mid 22nd century
as seen in Star Trek: Enterprise. The destinations of Enterprise's
(NX-01) journey can be found here, including the Delphic
Expanse and other halts, which ultimately led to the foundation
of the United Federation of Planets in 2161.
The map is based on a similar map in the Star
Trek Star Charts and has been extended to include the
later seasons of Enterprise accordingly.
You may wish to compare this map with the extensive map
of the Federation Main Core which
is featuring this area of space in the 24th century as well.

Political Powers
United Earth is the unified government of
Earth founded in the 22nd century, following First Contact
with the Vulcans in 2063. United Earth is one of the founding
members of the United Federation of Planets and still exists
as a subdivision of the Federation.
The Klingon Empire (Imperial Klingon Empire,
Klingon Imperial Empire) is one of the major powers throughout
Federation history. Kahless the Unforgettable founded the
Empire in the 9th century by uniting the Klingon homeworld
of Qo'noS, Klingons conquered many worlds pursuing their warrior's
quest for combat and honour...
The Romulan Star Empire (Romulan Empire)
is a major power of highly xenophobic, territorial protective
people with policies of extreme secrecy. Their attempts to
destabilise the political situation of the neighboring political
powers led to open warfare which became known as Earth-Romulan
War.
The Confederacy of Vulcan is the government
of the Vulcans, one of the five founding members of the Federation
and the first species which established First Contact with
Earth officially in 2063. Vulcans have a long history since
ancient times, attempted to guide Earth's space exploration
since their introduction and had a long-standing rivalry with
their neighbors, the Andorian Empire.
The Andorian Empire is the Andorian state
and one of the founding members of the United Federation of
Planets in 2161. Andorians established contact with the neighboring
Vulcan Confederacy in the 20th century, unfortunately their
situation tensed up and both sides participated in years of
cold war.
The United Planets of Tellar (United Planets
of 61 Cygni) is the government for the Tellarite civilization
which is centered around their homeworld of Tellar. Tellar
is one of the founding members of the United Federation of
Planets.
The Enolian Coalition is the government of
the Enolian species from Keto-Enol. Operating many starships
and trading outposts, they were a significant interstellar
power by the mid-22nd century. The strict judicial system
led to the arrest of Jonathan Archer for smuggling.
Navigation
The
map can be navigated in numerous ways and is divided in
three sections:
Inside the Map Section the map is displayed,
you can directly navigate using your mouse. The click-events
depend on the selected tool in the Navigation Control
and in the lower left corner the current scale is displayed.
On the right side of the map, the Navigation
Control can be found. By using the pan and zoom
buttons you can navigate the map and your position will
be displayed inside an overview map, which can also be
used to change your location accordingly.

The selected tool will be highlighted and a short description
inside the results-area of the Search Section will appear.
Some tools may also display their findings in this area.
It's also possible to open the map key which can be extended
with political information or the information-slide.
The Search Section is right above the
Map and the Navigation Control and will allow you to search
for locations inside this map (enter at least two characters).
For a complete search inside all maps at once you can
use the global search.
The results will be displayed below the input field, on
mouse-over a blinking indicator will illustrate the location's
position in the more distant zoom-levels (The indicator
won't appear in the two closest zoom-levels!). By clicking
on the location of your choice the map will automatically
center to the corresponding coordinates and zoom in. For
additional information you can select the -icon
and if you wish to browse all locations you can visit
the locations-page
inside the information-slide.
Map Key
The galaxy is divided into four quadrants (α,
β, γ, δ), defined by two meridian passing
through the galactic core.
The quadrants are divided into sectors, a sector is
typically 20x20x20 light years in size and is assigned
a number when charted. Some sectors may also be named
after prominent locations.
The Delphic Expanse was an area of space filled with
dangerous anamolies, approximately 2000 light years
across, which dissipated in 2154.
Starbases, Outposts, Space / Repair Stations, Relays
or any other space installation.
Member or a colony of a larger interstellar state.
Non-aligned system under protection or control of
another interstellar state.
Inhabited, warp-capable, independent system.
Habitable system, inhabited by a prewarp-civilisation
or uninhabited.
Quarantined or isolated system, poses possible dangers.
Barren system which doesn't support life for humanoids.
Known, yet not visited system, exact conditions may
be unknown.
Very small and dense star, which may be rotating rapidly
(Pulsar).
Black hole or another singularity.
An interstellar cloud of matter (gases, dust) which
may give birth to stars.
Groups of stars held together by their gravitational
forces. May contain hundreds or thousands of stars and
many possible star systems with planets.
